INFOPATH allows us to get analytics about information networks for different topics and world news events from all posts of 5,000 sites from March 2011 to February 2012.
Here, we show:
- Snapshots of different information networks across time
- Number of links that point between different types of sites (news media, blogs) across time
- Percentage of mainstream media and blogs among the most influential websites across time
Networks snapshots
We generated figures for different topics and world news events using Gephi. Websites are represented by circles. Bigger circles corresponds to websites that publish more relevant information about a topic. Sites are automatically divided into communities, and each community is represented by a different color. A link (edge) from a website A to a website B indicates that B tends to mention the same information content just after A.
