Guest Wifi Access (Stanford wide)
The host should:
Go to: https://www.stanford.edu/group/networking/cgi-bin/wirelessguest/accounts.cgi
- Login with your SUNetID
- Create the username/password for your guest
The guest should:
Connect to the wireless network with the name (SSID) Stanford
Open the browser and go to a random page, e.g. http://i.stanford.edu
- Enter the username/password provided by the host
Guest Wifi Access (Infolab only)
Connect to the wireless network with the name (SSID) InfolabGuest
Enter the password obtained from the office #431 (WiFi shelf).
Alternative option for Guest Wifi
The guest should:
Connect to the network with the name (SSID) Stanford Visitor
Open the browser and go to a random page, e.g. http://i.stanford.edu
Accept the terms and conditions of the guest WiFi access
Throttling
The Stanford Visitor wireless network is bandwidth limited for some protocols. You might also encounter issues with access to some services.
Stanford Visitor not in the list of available networks
Usually happens on 3rd and 4th floor of the Gates building. Just have the guest manually add the wireless network with the SSID Stanford Visitor. e.g. on a Mac you would click join Other Network... and type in the name there.
